I called a guy at a blackjack table at L'Auberge an a-hole a few weeks ago, mainly because he was being an a-hole. The pit boss lady told him 3 times to put his cell phone away while at the table, but dude started insulting her and the dealer. I got up to leave the table because I just don't like to deal with bullshite when I play and I wasn't going to say anything, but as I got up to leave, the guy said "so you are leaving because these people are being unreasonable, huh??" and I said "no, I am leaving because you are being an a-hole". The guy was drunk and this stunned him. He said "you just called me an a-hole, didn't you??" And I said "I sure did" and walked away. I am a smallish, middle-aged dude that normally wouldn't pick a fight, but I figured if the a-hole had started something, 20 security guards in red blazers would have rushed the scene and would have had my back.

I've had a few choice words at poker tables myself when someone is being obnoxious, whining or disrespecting a dealer. No patience for that.

Nah...the guy was in his early 50's. Decent-sized, but drunk. I figure the casino is about the safest place to call someone out like that because there is no doubt security would have taken up for me had the guy gotten up and tried to start shite. Agree. It is annoying. And I think the rule is kinda silly, but the fact of the matter is that it is a rule, and the casino floor people have to enforce it or they get written up. That's kinda why I stuck up for the dealer and pit boss. They shouldn't get in trouble because of some drunk a-hole.

Agree. When someone is being an a-hole at a table, it ruins the vibe and just makes the whole situation tense. Besides actually winning money and just playing games, part of the allure of the casino experience is a fun table. If the vibe is bad, I go elsewhere.
