It has been so long since I played the original Deus Ex or its sequel, but I felt like Human Revolution missed the boat on what Deus Ex was supposed to be. The game advertises the ability to play how you want yet the deck is heavily stacked against any other play style aside from stealth then you have pretty significant XP bonuses associated with finishing a mission without killing anyone which seems to clearly favor one style of play over another.

Then you have PS2-era animations which I won't go into

I agree about the game being slanted towards stealth but the kills were sick in that game.

I played the original deus ex and replayed it about 10-15 times. I loved it.

HR was amazing to me. It reminded me of the original in tone while completely refreshing game play.

If they improve on a couple of things (ie make it feel like it's not a square enix game) this will be GOTY to a lot of people. Myself included.
