Seems a hell of a lot easier, cause no FFL, no serial number, and can be shipped to your house.

Just have to drill a few of the holes to complete. Most send ya a jig.

Not really cheaper, but a hell of a lot easier to get

"The operations left to be completed are as follows/ fire control group, trigger pin, hammer pin, trigger slot and the safety selector hole. "

I'm looking to do one soon. I'm going to buy the universal jig kit from 80 percent arms probably at the end of this month. It's been something I've wanted to do for a while. If anything it would be a fun project to tackle.

Are you a felon? It's way easier to run down to your FFL and spend 5-10 minutes filling out a 4473 than learning how to mill out and then trying to mill out the FCG/etc. Unless you have a mill, experience, some non-shitty way to coat it and ample free time I don't see how you can say "it'seems a hell of a lot easier."

Also, you're going to want to put some kind of serial number on there incase you lose it or it gets stolen. Just because you engrave/stamp an arbitrary number on there doesn't mean it's magically traceable all of a sudden.

The 80% lowers that I have seen are more than just drilling a few holes. You have to mill out the area where the trigger group sits. Are they making 80% lowers now that you literally just have to drill a few holes?

Like stated above if you want an 80% lower strictly because it is "easier" I think you might be in for a rude awakening.

It's not like building the Apollo spacecraft, but it is more than just drilling a couple of holes.

A good bit of material has to come out to complete an 80 lower.

Yeah that seems like it'd be a lot easier than answering a few yes/no questions and signing your name.

Hmm, if I'm doing 20% of the labor I'd like to see some savings for my effort. I can see doing this because you like projects or if it gives you an opportunity to add some customization but not because it's easier.
