Well, you know all the consumer CPUs aren't going to support ECC, so you'll have to find a mobile workstation with a Xeon. Could probably get a Lenovo Thinkpad with a Xeon and ECC RAM for a couple grand.

Yeah, but we do have some non-xeons in the desktop which support ECC on the board, just a few cases. Learned this building my last FreeNAS. I wouldnt believe a laptop option would be out there but wanted to check.

It's a heard spec to just Google. Not a lot of info on them because yeah, not that many out there in the wild.

What else can I do to protect myself from corrupted databases. I backup daily, but sometimes I go so far and then bam.. run into inissue that the repair can't fix.

Edt: it's never saved files and always happening when working in the databases. Leading to the belief that ECC RAM might help my issue.
