I have a 17 year old son and a 13 year old daughter. From walking to about 8 my son was a terror. I'm talking wiping shite on his bedroom wall terror, mooning people at school terror. Spankings were at least monthly. Little boys don't have a physical filter, they are like a Lab, if they are bored something's getting torn up. Now he's the best kid anyone could want, self motivated scholar that has the manners of an old school gentleman. My daughter was Daddy's little girl till about age 9. She lived for my attention and could entertain herself all day if need be. Now she is a moody young lady who's body chemistry is going nuts. She seems to always be mad about something and she and my wife have unfortunately "synced" up. Me and my son have 4 to 5 days of psycho a month (these are our yard work days).

Totally depends on he kid. My daughter doesn't want people around her, very seldom wants affection. My son hugs everybody. How hard they are to raise is all about their individual personality.
