Have OT folks ever planned a float trip?

If not, we should plan one in NW Arkansas or SW Missouri. Missouri is a mecca of perfect rivers conducive to float trips.
Beer, baws, and baes.
Anyone on board?

Honestly, if you want an incredible floating experience, travel to Mammoth Springs, AR and float the Spring River. Class 3 rapids. Gorgeous scenery. Beer, baws, and baes.
Or, travel about an hour north of Mammoth Springs, AR to Van Buren, MO and float the Current River. The Current River is spring fed which means it stays up all year long and is always cool water. The Current River is a nationally designated scenic waterway, protected for the sole purpose of floating while maintaining the scenic beauty.

Van Buren, MO is a cute town. There is a riverfront lodge in the middle of town. It's the same lodge you rent your tubes/canoes from. They bus you up river 7 miles and you end at your lodge.
As far as the Spring River is concerned, there are plenty of private cabins in Mammoth Springs, AR. I'd recommend a private cabin with a view of the Spring River.

If driving to Arkansas, the Buffalo river is where you need to be.

I've heard that too

Not true.
The Buffalo is only great in the early Spring. And don't get me wrong...it's wonderful at that time.
However, by late June or July it dries up to nothing more than a rocky creek bed.
I live an hour from the Buffalo so I know what I'm talking about.
At this time of year the Spring River or the Kings River near Eureka, AR is where you need to go.
The Current River in Van Buren, MO is a scenic wonder and up all year long.

Did one for 4th of July in SE Missouri. Floated from Doniphan, MO to Arkansas. Beautiful river, lots of places to stay.

Glad you enjoyed your time in SE Missouri. Now plan a trip to South Central or SW Missouri. The further you go west the better the rivers.

Uhhhh...I guess you've never floated the Missouri River. LOLOLOLOLOL.
Regardless, I will float anywhere! Invite me down sometime. I'll bring my 18' carbon fiber racing canoe and some brew.
