It is very simple. Not a screen, but I replaced the charging dock and microphone on a 4S. Took maybe 30 minutes watching youtube and doing it. You have to take just about everything off to get to that part. A simple screen swap would be even easier.

you have to take everything off to do a simple screen swap as well. because the replacement screens dont come with the camera, home button, microphone, etc.
It's still pretty easy.

This product is absolute garbage. I've had the screen installed in my phone for 6 days now, and its already starting to malfunction. The actual glass screen is separating from the digitizer, which causes a world of operating issues when trying to navigate through the phone. Sometimes it doesn't allow me to click on anything, other times it clicks on something completely opposite of what I selected, and the list goes on. Do not waste your money on this junk, there are far better options around the same price point.
y'all keep trolling. i'll keep the 1-year warranty receipt in my file cabinet and enjoy someone who does this for a living charging a few bucks to take care of it the right way.

im not trolling. i installed the same thing on the 6. it works just as it's supposed to.
i know someone else who did as well. the 6 cost me $28. Anyone who paid $65 to install a 5s would be dumb. Paying $70+ to have someone install it is also paying over price but at least you dont have to do it yourself.
Trust me though your link to a $65 screen off amazon did not prove your point. Not even a little. I never said you dont have to pay for a service. It's about what is more valuable to you, your time or your money.
But you pretending you were vindicated with your link is definitely wrong.

all i did was sort the category by the most popular screen with the most reviews aka most likely i wont have to do the job a second time.
the fact you can find a cheaper digitizer/screen combo doesn't make yours better.
glad you lucked out though; ive replaced screen glass before on an android phone and a chromebook.
simply wasn't interested in doing it for my wife's iphone because it was hard enough getting it away from her for 30 minutes.

i forgot to address this point. it's screws and popping a couple of connections from a motherboard. It's not changing the transmission in a car. Let's stop pretending like it's a difficult job that could result in you creating further damage to your phone.

that's completely understandable. but people telling you that you could have done it yourself for a fraction of the cost doesn't mean they're trolling you. it's a simple fact. it's up to you whether you want to accept it.

bullshite. i've scuffed up many small devices with tight tolerances trying to pry open something and damaged/broken the brackets in the process.
even when i know where to apply pressure it doesn't always go as planned.
you are ignoring the fact the 'popular' replacment kit on amazon is maybe $10 less than i paid somemone to do the job right and use that to say i overpaid?
is your $20 glass corning gorilla glass or some cheap chinese glass?
not buying it.

well maybe you just suck then. they send you a suction cup and it isn't even great. even with the 10 cent suction cup you would have to be a woman to break a bracket prying the screen from the iphone casing.

no i addressed this already. anyone who would pay that much for a replacement part is pretty dumb. that link is way overpriced.

you failed to address the quality of the kit and glass.
if its shitty glass you may end up buying your $25 kit 3 or 4 times due to scratching or the screen breaking again.

all i can say is the screen looked and felt exactly the same as the stock screen. i didn't put it under an electron microscope though.
i bought her a screen protector as well so im not expecting to have to do this again. thats the hope at least.

The question still remains, what's the likely hood of you having to replace the screen again and again? Have you looked at the probability?
Posted on 7/28/16 at 7:36 am to CAD703X
I did it myself and it wasn't a pain in the arse at all
