Consensus on our starting fullback?

Obviously not the most exciting of topics, but with Les Miles' offense the fullback is a critical position.
Mouton picked up a lot of slack towards the later part of the year compared to his first few games, but was it enough to come in the favorite for this season?
JD Moore played exceptional prior to his injury.
Is it a given that JD Moore starts?

Without a doubt.
Although I expect Mouton to be improved and fully prepared to take over in event of injury.

JD Moore is Linebacker seeking missile.

JD Moore is the guy
Mouton was serviceable and nothing more. The sack/fumble in the arkansas game that resulted from him letting a rusher breeze by is embedded into my brain. Glad our backup got experience though.

It was quite noticeable when Moore went out last year.

FIFY
Mouton and Ducre are more than decent backups. Tigers probably have the deepest FB core in the country, especially when you consider that so many teams no longer even carry the position.

Curious if Ducre is going to get any carries this year? Of the three FB's mentioned in this thread thus far, he seems like the one most likely to run the ball.

I really hope Ducre gets some snaps at some position whether at rb or fb.

We have to understand that Mouton was a true Freshman playing the most physical position in the most physical conference in college football. Surely he will only get better and hopefully he is good enough to split time 65%-35% with JDM

Did it seem like Ducre was a bit tentative to contact to anyone else? He may not fit the mold of a Miles fullback. He most definitely has the intangibles though.

I was actually looking forward to seeing DWhite get some fb carries.
I think he could be the best fb in cfb.

JD Moore all the way. I am glad Mouton got reps and seemed to get better.

I'd love to see them get Ducre the ball out of the passing game. We've been known to throw to the FB on occasion. I'd love to see what he could do in space.

I'd love to see Mouton at TE like he was at Acadiana

You better believe it is.

If Moore is fully recovered, it is his job. Frankly, I would like one of Mouton or Ducre to be moved to ILB. Beckwith and Riley have some experience and White has great potential. Still that is 3 guys with two being seniors. Voorhies and Patterson have been in the program awhile with no "significant" snaps. Depth wise ILB is the weakest two positions on the team.
