The SECN is going the way of most other networks (except of course for TCM), by saturating their telecasts with commercials.
e.g. Wheel of Fortune is 16 minutes of actual show.
Reruns of Everybody Loves Raymond is painful. There's commercials every 5 minutes, and I can take a mini-nap waiting for them to be over.
I might go by the way of Hulu and or Netflix. Also heard of some king of 'Stick' apparatus that can be used?
And the things I tape on my box I just FF through the commericals.
It's getting to where I might just keep it on TCM if there's something mildly entertaining on....

And it was the same damn commercials every time too. You've got cancer. I couldn't have watched that without a DVR.

I think you're talking about the Amazon firestick (there's also a roku etc)
It essentially is a 100 dollar box sometimes cheaper that turns your tv into a "smart TV". You get channels al la carte not to mention it comes with all the major streaming services like Netflix and hulu.
Cable tv will be dead in 10-20 years.
