WWE Draft Tonight - UPDATED RESULTS
Posted on 7/19/16 at 10:34 am
Posted on 7/19/16 at 10:34 am
Here is an ARTICLE on the draft rules for tonight.
I've always hear people say that Raw is 3 hours and Smackdown is only 2 hours. I watch these from time to time on Hulu the next day... Smackdown is usually 1 hr 27 minutes give or take a minute or two... Raw is always 1 hr 30 minutes. I realize Raw lasts longer on TV but the fact is the shows are almost identical in time once you get rid of the commercials.
Any interesting theories out there on how people are going to be selected?

The rules provided by WWE for the draft is as follows:
* RAW will get the first overall pick on Tuesday night.
* With Smackdown being a two hour show and RAW being a three hour show, for every two picks Smackdown picks up, RAW will receive three picks.
* Tag teams will count as one pick unless a Commissioner or General Manager “specifically wants one member of the team.”
* Six draft picks will come from the current NXT roster.

Why are raw, smackdown, and hulu in all caps?

What round do you think Chris Benoit will go in?

Are you referring to the draft or the thread? HAHAHA

This is actually substantially less nerdy than the recruiting mock draft.

Is RAW still WAR?
Not since 9-11.

The draft was already done in a board room. There is no drama to it. No way they are taking Raw and making it somehow equal to smackdown. What they need to do is fine some new big time superstars. That product has zero huge superstars besides Seth Rollins, and even he isn't on the mega star level.

I guess Raw was all caps in the article so I put it in all caps too... and then I felt bad for Smackdown and Hulu as proper names and did those as well.
I fixed it for you...

If they let Kevin Owens off the leash he will get on that level.

RAW on hulu is edited. Entire segments are missing, including matches. Its not just commercials.
As for the draft, its already been decided and they are advertising live events with split rosters. For example....
Tour 1: Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt, Randy Orton, AJ Styles, The Miz, Cesaro, Alberto Del Rio, Enzo & Big Cass, The Dudley Boyz, Becky Lynch and Natalya
Tour 2: Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, The New Day, Sami Zayn, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, Rusev, Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Paige
Only question is which tour is which show, that part isnt being directly advertised.
The only thing really troubling about that is that it indicates they are breaking up the bullet club

I'm pretty pumped
I'm going to Battleground on Sunday

Not if a certain someone from NXT gets drafted to the same show as Gallows and Anderson....

They have been doing this for a while now... The show I went to this year with my kids had the split roster with another show opposite in Baton Rouge.
I thought that was just an "A" show and a "B" show.
The Baton Rouge show had almost all of the big names. We got Dean Ambrose and Sasha Banks in Lake Charles... And that's about it... it was pretty lame not to see all of the superstars there like the past shows in Lake Charles.

Yeah, its been common practice to run split tours, it theoretically doubles their potential gate. But going forward those split tours will be the RAW tour and the Smackdown Live tour. They wont inter-mingle the rosters except for the Big 4 PPVs.
