Pretty much just as excuse to get people together. Food and liquor paid for for guests. Just asking that guests bring a bottle of liquor, wine, etc. as a gift.

Not to derail you, but a stock the bar is typically thrown at someone's house. Why would you want 50 people to bring you liquor, at a bar?
I mean, by all means go for it, but i've never heard of a stock the bar at an actual bar. Unless you are the owner of said bar and you havent been paying your liquor bills.
