So I have had this idea for the draft for weeks now that I think would be pretty cool and help with storylines but I've been too lazy to post it so here it goes:

Have all the NXT talent eligible to be drafted by each brand only just bc they are drafted doesn't mean they are immediately brought up to the main roster

So Shane could draft someone from NXT who isn't a big name then leave them down there until he felt they were needed. You could have storylines around these things with never knowing when the talent would be called up. Also raw and SD could trade prospects as needs arise through injury, etc.

Could even have the GM of NXT (Regal I think?) fight to keep certain guys down there bc they are too valuable

It could work similarly to MLB's minor league system. I know they won't do it but it'd be an easy way to create some logical strorylines

I like the idea. I also think they need to find a way to have brand champions and only those can have a story line with the WWE champion. This will allow the champion to be on one show or the other and not have to worry about getting overworked by being on both shows.

The end of an era.

The original hard split probably ended in that 2007 PPV when RAW guys appeared on a Smackdown PPV. And then it became more of a soft roster split and then ended. So we've arguably had an integrated roster for almost 9 years.

Cheap Heat podcast with Peter Rosenberg was a good Mock Draft episode. Possibly their best Pod in a while
