It will be interesting to see what the Rangers do as presumable buyers before the trade deadline. Another arm or two in the bullpen could make them the favorites in the AL assuming Darvish can continue to progress without any more setbacks.

I'm also interested to see what Bannister does with the lineup. I think at this point he may need to look at using Profar more at first with Moreland and Prince still not up to form. The only downside is that both of these guys need ABs to break out of their funks. With Houston surging Texas may not have enough ABs to give those three and Profar seems to have the hot hand.

Unfortunately a pennant race is NOT the time to be training a new position player. I would use Profar as a super-sub/DH and leave Moreland at 1B (even when Profar is at 1B Moreland comes in as a late-inning defensive replacement).

During the off-season and spring training you can then work on Profar's 1B defense, especially since Moreland won't be with the Rangers next season.
