As a Rockets fan, I can give you guys the low-down on Terrence Jones.

During the 2013-14 season, he was a pretty decent player. He wasn't good on defense. Average at best. He would get abused by the better PF's in the league but he'd do alright the rest of the time. Not great, but alright. He could sometimes maybe hit the 3 if he was wide open. That's the only time he'd ever shoot it.. when he was wide open for miles and set up for a shot and he had no choice but to take it. And he still only shot 30% from 3. He had a nice little face-up game. Likes to catch on the perimeter, pump fake, drive, spin, and score with a baby hook.

2014-15 he started the season really well... for 4 games. Looking to have his break-out year in his 3rd season, in his 5th game he took a knee to the thigh. For some reason, what is usually just a painful bruise turned into nerve damage. He couldn't move his leg or feel his toes. It took him months to get his movement back starting with trying to move his toe, then his ankle, then his leg, etc. He finally came back near the end of the season and played a few games before catching a knee to the chest on a loose ball and puncturing his lung. That was pretty much a wrap on the season.

2015-2016 (this past season), he just wasn't good. Sucked at everything from defense to shooting to rebounding. It took a while for people to realize that he really sucked because he used to be a decent player. He ended up getting in a car accident during the season. There wasn't much news about it, and it was supposed to be minor. He missed a few games I think after it, and when he came back he sucked even worse. So much so that he was virtually the last guy off the bench. Remember... he was the starter. Think about how bad you have to suck to go from starting to the coach telling you to take a seat and don't even think about getting up.

He sucked so bad that the Rockets just let him walk. I wasn't sure if he was going to even be in the league this next year. Maybe he'd get one more chance on a minimum deal. But he was really really bad. I don't know if was the nerve injury or what... but he wasn't the same. He went from looking at about $15 million per year to getting a 1 year minimum deal.

If he could somehow regain his ability from 2 years ago, he would be a nice addition, especially at that price. But I just don't know... he was really bad this past season, and he should have been past his leg issue.

Yeah, that's kind of what I've been hearing. On a minimum deal I'm fine with it. Its the 14th roster spot, those guys don't play a whole lot on semi-competent teams.

If he regains form, great. If not, we threw a bone to our star and a valuable agent. No big deal.

Heck, we don't even know if this contract is fully guaranteed, do we?
