ULL baseball stadium corruption? **UPDATE** Demolition begins!

There appear to be some serious issues going on with the renovation of their stadium. Apparently the athletic director misled donors, administrators, and their athletic fund board on the amount of money raised for the project, stating they had raised 70% of the funding. The 17MM project was slated to begin immediately after the season, but one month later and only raising 3MM, the project is at a standstill.
Feel bad for Robichaux, tbh.
Also, they might have to play at a rec league park south of town.
UPDATE: 7/15
KPEL radio in Lafayette announced that a status update on the project would be released by the university. Less than two hours later, that announcement has now been postponed.
UPDATE: 7/18
Allegedly, individuals representing the interest of ULL have reached out to 103.7 FM in Lafayette requesting their media personalities quit talking about the stadium issue on air.
UPDATE: 7/19
103.7 FM host confirmed on-air that ULL AD Farmer called the station's management to tell them to silence their radio personalities on the stadium renovation corruption. That radio personality is now suspended!
UPDATE: 7/22
Statement released by school (see pg. 16). No movement at stadium.
UPDATE: 7/25
Seats are being removed by felons.
UPDATE: 7/27
Demolition has begun.

It's a bad situation and I'm afraid it's only going to get worse.

How in the shite do not have it funded after stating they have 70% funded?
I know they got 3 mil from the Russo family. you are telling me that's all they got?

I heard they had raised more than $3M

Fabacher? If so, man... can they even fit half of the season ticket holders in there?

Well, they've been misleading everyone as to the name of their school, so am I shocked? No.

Assuming they ever start construction, yeah it would be at Fabacher. And no, I think capacity for Fabacher is 1,500. Believe there were around 3,000+ season ticket holders last year. It's a mess.

I'm sure they could add outfield seats to bring the capacity higher but yeah they are screwed. Did they start tearing anything down? Might just put the whole thing on hold until they can afford it.

Scott Farmer is a fricking choad who needs to be fired. Seriously, this athletic department is famous for frick ups but if they're not going to give Robe his stadium, they can all be tarred and feathered. The amount of shite he's done to build the program while being paid 1/10th his worth, he should threaten to quit unless Farmer is fired.

As of this morning there hasn't been anything torn down of note. Construction was supposed to begin the Monday after the Super Regionals.

Robe said they've done a lot of electrical and pipe work but nothing has been torn down except part of Lourdes Park

Geez, add on rainouts with the natural grass, little to know students making it out to basically Youngsville/Broussard. I know equipment has been in place for over a month. I haven't been north of kaliste saloom in a couple of weeks, they haven't started any demo yet have they?

No demo to the actual stadium. They've taken down a few things around the outside of the park.

Assuming the project is put on hold, how much of the 3M would have to go the contractor for work already done, standby time, etc., etc., and possible breach of contract? Or is the Ath Dept. subbing everything out, so that just the work done would be owed?

Jay Walker has been on a full on crusade to save his butt buddy Scott Farmer, too. I was always neutral to Jay but frick him. He's got the administration's hands so far up his arse, it's unbelievable. Such a puppet.

So they'll probably just hold of the construction until next year (if ever) right? If they somehow got the funds and started now, no way they'll be done anytime near the start of the season.

It doesn't seem like they would have put much of a dent in that budget unless the electrical and pipe system was a disaster which is highly possible. I'm not donating any money to the athletic department unless they make changes. I'll only buy baseball season tickets to support Robichaux.

Robe was on the radio last week saying he still expects it to start soon

I've never been a fan of Walker, glad this shite is exposing him. He's really digging himself in deep on this issue. Might not be any coming back from this for him, with the public that is. I'm sure the administration is loving him fighting their battles considering they've been hiding for a month.

Not corruption by the school. Bad management perhaps.
Isn't the lead donor under investigation or being sued for embezzlement/corruption or something.
