Lone Star is nice. The Cowboys course is always in great shape and a tough course. Worth the 75.00

Not sure what Lone Star is... Maybe you guys meant Texas Star in Euless. Cowboys is excellent and is the best public course in the city; however, it is definitely not $75. It's more like $190. That $190 includes all your food and drinks (no alcohol) throughout the day ie breakfast, lunch, dinner and food on course. You may want to call up there, I have heard that it's only $90 after 12 and it includes all the food. In my opinion, that is a steal, but again, call to make sure that's true.

The tribute is a sweet course, and it seems like they are struggling to get play, so you should be able to play in the afternoon pretty cheap. I played there on Sunday and it's in great shape. The greens are a little hairy, but not terrible. It's in The Colony (a little outside Frisco) so depending on where you're staying, it could be a hike.

Pecan Hollow is a hidden gem and is one of my favorite courses in the metroplex - Definitely my favorite muni.

If you're staying downtown, Stevens Park may be your best bet. It's fun I guess. Not my kind of course, but it has some cool views of the city.
