It's a long game. Going to take a long time to find and catch all the pokemon, which is the ultimate objective. Good thing for players who are "behind" is that taking over gyms is easier than defending them, so even if you don't have that 1800 snorlax, you still may be able to take over a gym.
I'm hoarding stardust and just catching everything I can to keep leveling up. I hope to be able to max out a ton of strong pokemon and wreck shop all over my town in the next couple months.

It'll take longer when they release the second generation. Unless that was a made up rumor about December...

Same here. I remember evolving to a pidgeot and it being in the 120s. Now finding 300+ pidgeys so I'm not going to final form anything for a while unless it's someone I don't have registered that I'm anticipating.
