1) nothing to do with athletics. I have a daughter.
2) would not be 19 during Sr year. Would graduate HS and start college at 18 like the vast majority of other kids in Louisiana and like other kids in 42 other states.
The Sept 30 cutoff by Louisiana is antiquated. Kindergarten is not the same as it was when the cutoff was set and the academic calendar starts weeks earlier also.
It would make sense that cutoff date would change to reflect those changes but in Louisiana they have not.

I would do it. I graduated high school at 17 and started college at 17. In my opinion I was behind athletically and academically. That extra year would have done wonders for each. I am going to do it for my son who's b- day is mid May. He will turn 19 the summer before his freshman year in college.
