Knoxville has had a few make it over the past couple decades including:

Whitechapel
The Black Lillies
Disciple
The Dirty Guv'nahs
and of course Kenny Chesney

Im sure im missing a few but these are the most popular ones off the top of my head.

I'd only want to list the ones that play metal music.

Lot of other shite that blew up in the late 90s, which is embarrassing.

James Burton and Kenny Wayne Shepard off the top of my head. Hank Jr. was born in Shreveport. I'm sure there are more I am not thinking about.

My town has Rearview Ghost. They are pretty kickass and they are very humble.

Is Kenny Wayne Shepard an LA baw? I always just assumed he was because Blue on Black juat sounds like pure southern gothic LA rock

He grew up in Shreveport. His dad was local DJ but apparently had connections in the music business.

Some up and coming rap artist that got killed. I had never heard of him but it briefly made the national news a couple of years ago.
