that coached elsewhere but never in their home state. Bryant, Johnson, and Tuberville are three that come to mind. Need some help with any others.

I believe Tuberville was a grad assistant at Arkansas State, his alma mater. Jimmy Johnson was an assistant to Broyles at Arkansas.

Tommy Brasher who just retired from the Eagles. Pete Jenkins took his place. He had throat cancer. After a couple of years off.....he may be ready to come back to the game. Ar-Kansas should look at him. He was a Frank Broyles guy. Said that he got him every job that he had.

Thanks. Should have said coaches with connections I guess. Living here for the last 24 years I guess I've been brainwashed by the media here. The make you believe every coach in America has some kind of pull to this state.

Larry Lacewell is from Arkansas. He coached at A-State. Finished up as Recruiting Coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys.
Jimmy "Red" Parker is from Arkansas. He ended up at the Cidital and Clemson. Probably not well known to anyone on the board but he was able to work nothing into something.
Ken Hatfield was on the same team as Jimmy Johnson but ended up back at Arkansas before Broyles ran him off.
Interesting thing about Bear Bryant, Lacewell and Parker. All successful D-1 coaches that came from a small town in Arkansas - Fordyce.

Dude, what in the world is going on with Arkansas? Are they looking hard at Muschamp?

Ex-DC for Ole Miss, John Thompson went to UCA. Someone on the UCA fanboard made the statement he only averages 9 months at a school since he entered college coaching.
Rocket, the three names I see in the media being tossed around right now are Tiffin, Muschamp, and Chow. Quite a few of the players are backing DC Herring, according to the media. Barnum & Bailey would be proud with what is going on up here.

I'm not sure if Charlie Strong was mentioned... course he's not a head coach.
Supposedly Arkansas has a search firm and they are looking at the following: Petrino, Muschamp, Kiffin, and Venables
Things are very quiet right now.
