Which standards in particular are you addressing? You also realize this is the minimum to even begin training, correct? The standards once you're done aren't much better, but have fun as a bare minimum Marine. Most units I've worked with will have your arse doing additional PT if you can't do at least 12-15 pull ups and run closer to 20 minutes than 25.

In my unit in Barstow, I was the Marine that would retrain those nasty remedial maggots. It was fun for me, but most of them hated me. At the time I was only a Lance Corporal, and I would often have a Cpl or a Sgt under my care...it began as an awkward experience, but they soon fell in-line. Fortunately, though, I would only have a small group at a time (3-7). Marines, for the most part, are more physically fit than the other branches.
