Ok a year and a half, again nobody does this other than maybe Sega back in the day and I can't even remember.
This scorpio thing really reminds me of the Saturn for some reason.
In terms of power, it really seems like it should be a new console, but it's actually xbox one point five. The fact that it's so powerful* means that they're going to take a big loss for a console that has practically no AAA titles that aren't close to straight ports, wasting it's graphical advantage. It's probably not going to play 4k games well until developers have really got to grips with it, that might be xmas 2018 or later.
*Leaving aside the fact that any graphics statistic pushed by MS or Sony is probably bullshite, PS2 was supposed to be able to handle 66m polygons per second but couldn't even do anti-aliasing, lol. Also I'm assuming a AAA title has a 2-2.5 year development time from concept to product in store.
Perhaps it'll be easy for devs to port 4k games over from PC next year, it's all MS on the PC after all.
