Anyone play Franchise mode in MLB the show?

I know a lot of people like to play diamond dynasty and online stuff on here. Franchise has always been my thing with this game, but I hated that you had to play 162 games. I am not a fan of having to sim games, and playing multiple seasons of 162 games isn't realistic.
I decided to suck it up and just do as others suggested and play one game per series. I am also a big time LSU fan, so I traded away some of my roster for all the LSU major and minors guys.
My pitching rotation has Gausman, Nola and Zach Lee (I know he's not a real LSU guy, but oh well). Also have Ranadou, Coleman, Furbusch, Harris in my pen.
My MLB roster consist of LeMeiheu (who starts at 3rd), Mahtook (bench), Hill (bench) and Jacoby Jones and Bregman have had MLB roster spots at certain points during the season.
I usually pitch with Gausman or Nola. Gausman is going to bring home the Cy Young and Corea will likely win the batting title.
I started out very rough, but worked my way into a wild card spot shortly after the All-Star break. My team really turned it on late and started to make a push or the division, which Seattle was leading and also had the best record in the AL. With 2 weeks left in the season I took over first place. I am now playing my final game of the season. Have Nola going on the mound against the Angels and hold a 1 game lead for the division (and the top wild card spot) over Seattle.
So, my season will end with my as a wild card or tied for the division/AL lead going into the playoffs.
It's been a shitload of fun and I have gotten through the season in a reasonable amount of time. I'm going to be playing every playoff game, so hopefully I bring a title to Houston.

Just play RTTS. You can knock out an entire series in less than 20 min. Grant it you lose the fun in managing an entire team but you still get to build an individual player.

The way they streamlined series in RTTS increased my playing time dramatically. I used to not play soley because of the amount of loading screens

Yeah, being able to play an entire series without having to go back to the home screen was ingenious.

I've been contemplating whether or not to get this game.. I can get it for free through my work, but not sure if it was worth using on this game or something else..

If you like baseball even a little bit, then yes. It's the game I play 75% more than any other.

I do play RTTS or a little while. Mainly when I'm waiting for rosters to come out. I am a franchise mode junkie in every game I play though. I like having complete control of the entire team. I enjoy the offseason stuff as much as I enjoy playing the games.
I used to play with a pitcher in RTTS, but I hate the fact that I am throwing gems and my team can't put runs on the board. I played with a position player this year though and it was fun, but I knew it wasn't going to last because I would jump into franchise.

This game is the sole reason I am considering Playstation over XBox.
Playstation is 350 (300 at Target now)
XBox is running 250-300

Yep I do although they still have issues with the hot/cold dynamic ratings and the fact that you can sign a young stud to a cheap contract that's fair and the next year he's pissed he's not getting paid enough despite being thrilled when he signed the contract.
The dynamic hot/cold ratings really really need to be toned down. It's just not realistic when someone like Miggy hits .240 for the year

I play every game but what I do is if the game is tied I'm playing every pitch. If in a game I fall behind, I finish out that half inning pitching, and then after that I only hit until I either tie the game back up or take the lead. And vice versa, if im leading or take the lead I'll finish out that at bat but then after that I'll only pitch until I tie again or fall behind. It allows for you to always play the first and last pitch of every game and is very enjoyable. You still feel like you play a majority of the game

Yeah, if you like baseball then get it.
I originally bought my PS4 exclusively for the show 2014 and it's by far the title I play the most.

To be perfectly honest, I'm pissed off that Xbox doesn't have a quality baseball game.. How is that even possible? They have a fricking lacrosse game
They do have RBI baseball but that's an arcade style game that plays like men's overhand softball.. It's ok, but damn, it sucks not having a game like The Show

Ended up winning my division by 1 over the mariners (we had the two best records in the AL). Mariners beat the angels in the wild card game and I battled it out with them. Series went all 5 games, with me taking game 5 to win the series.
I'm not playing Tampa in the alcs. My fifth starter, Zach Lee had to pitch after my long series against the mariners, in game one. He threw a damn gem and I took a 1-0 into the top of the 9th. Rays got to my pen and tied it in the 9th. We ended up going 14 innings. I had runners in scoring position and should have won the game multiple times in extras but blew every chance I had. Rays scored in the top of the 14th and shut the door on me.
My Cy young award winning pitcher, Kevin Gausman, thew in game 2 and went a complete game getting the 4-2 win. Alcs tied at 1-1 right now.
