How many nights per month are you in a hotel?
14-17 nights a month

What is your preferred hotel chain and why?
Marriott. I think the points are more valuable. Hilton offers a matching program for status that I don't think Marriott has. Just a few nights in Hilton this year, but I have Diamond status because of my loyalty to Marriott.

How many flights a year do you average?
40-50

What is your preferred airline and why?
When I lived in Jacksonville, Delta. There were more flights through ATL than other carriers at the time. Since I've lived in NOLA, SWA seems to be a better option.

Do you get to keep your hotel/airline points?
Yes, I get to keep both.

How many miles per month are you driving?
Hardly any for work.

Do you have a "territory," and if so, what is it?
Not really. Boston to Miami, CA to Atlanta and all in between.

How does your company reimburse mileage?
Yes, .55/mile

Do you receive a car allowance, and if so, how much is it?
No.

Do you receive per diem, if so how much per night?
150 for hotels and 70/day for food.

How are travel expenses paid (reimbursed from your card or company card)?
I have a company credit card and expenses are charged to it.

What industry are you in?
Automotive.

What advice would you give someone who is about to be a frequent work traveler?
Find a hotel chain and airline that will give you the best benefits and if you can, stick with that airline. The first 5 years of my traveling I was required to take the lowest cost flights. It wound up screwing me on any sort of frequent flier status.

It can get old quick. I've been doing it for 11 years now. The time seems to go by pretty fast though. It's definitely not for everyone. Good luck.
