Both are looked at the same as far as ER is concerned. I don't know what difference you refer to. One is for elderly (Medicare) the other (Medicaid) being for children, disabled, and poor.

From a private owned free standing they are treated with the same disdain. Can't collect from them. And have no interest in trying until forced.

Medicaid has a very low reimbursement rate, and is difficult to collect from.

Medicare has a much higher reimbursement rate and is far easier to collect from, even than most private insurers.
