The biggest mystery to me is the super-regional disappearing act by the Jordan twins. They were a combined 0 for 12 in the SR.

Last night Beau made three first pitch outs while going 0 for 5. He made the last LSU out of the super regional on a first pitch fly ball out with the bases loaded in the top of the 9th.

You tend to look for a first pitch when you are terribly scared of a curve ball/ slider in the dirt.
If you recall, early in the year they were taking the first pitch almost every at bat. You want to look for that first pitch fast ball for fear of a two strike curve. The same thing happened to Romero, who was a first pitch hitter until people wised up and started throwing first pitch sliders.
