They can really get into it. An English play by play guy will be calling the match with a typical dry, direct, and level English cadence then suddenly SHOUT THE PLAYER'S NAME whenever a shot is made. Some also make random, strange observations.

Yeah, I enjoy that so many of the play by play guys say the most random things ever.
They're so unashamed as well to deploy adjectives that you'd normally expect from a 8 year old girl describing a unicorn cupcake or goth teens their emotions upon first reading Shelley.
Putting these guys next gruff, not-the-sharpest-knife in-the-drawer retired players is a great recipe for subtle unintentional humor.
