In terms of locker room character, yes it would be.

Yeah, but Junior acting up in the locker room didn't screw the Saints over. Giving him a retarded contract that made him untouchable and a devastating cut fricked the Saints over.

You mean like the Cowboys did?

quote:
In addition to a base salary of $573,529, Hardy makes a per-game roster bonus of $578,125. With four games played, he already has earned an extra $2.3125 million, which he’ll be paid whether he’s cut or not. And he’ll continue to earn the extra $578,125 per week, along with his base salary, at $33,737 per week.

Likewise, Hardy already has earned a workout bonus of $1.3116 million, which he gets regardless of whether he’s on the team for the rest of the season.

Ultimately, only one aspect of compensation hinges on Hardy being on the roster through the end of the regular season: His incentive payment for sacks.

At eight sacks, he gets $500,000. With two more, the total becomes $1 million. At 12 sacks, the total is $1.4 million. For 14, he gets a total of $1.8 million.

I didn't say to offer him what the Cowboys offered him. You can offer him a cheap, short term contract that gives him the incentive to behave and perform and seek a payday next year, and one that if he acts up in the lockerroom or elsewhere you can cut him with minimal damage.

Yet he still acted an arse in Dallas. Is immediately getting into with teammates on the practice field & pushing a defensive coach during a game, really worth it?

For the Saints right now? For the right price and conditions? Sure.

frick that piece of shite. No thanks.

I mean, I get it if you don't like him or want him on the team because he's a POS with a track record. I hate Nick Fairley but I can get behind his signing because this is a business and the Saints need help NOW. There's a lot of athletes that are pieces of shite, I wouldn't handicap my franchise when I have a HOF quarterback with a very small window of years left for a title because I don't like a certain guy's off the field demeanor.

Simply put, I wouldn't rule him out. I would certainly explore the options, weigh my risks, and if I was to offer I would make sure the contract was heavily one sided and short term. One year. If he refuses those conditions then oh well. But to simply rule out the idea all together when the Saints are desperate, and I mean absolutely desperate for any kind of pass rusher is foolish IMO.

So calling out his head coach (frick Sean video), beefing with Cam Jordan & fist fighting teammates in the locker room didn't ruin team chemistry? Good Lord dude you are reaching now. Galette had the locker room so divided Payton made it a point last draft to select players who fit the mold of being solid teammates. It's funny how quickly some people forget just how much shite came out about Junior's antics behind the scenes.

If the Saints knew about his beating a woman with a belt before they gave him a big deal, then it was "retarded." I suspect that wasn't the case. They locked up a stud pass rusher that was entering his prime at a reasonable deal. The issues started piling up after he got paid. It happens, but it's VERY difficult to predict.

If the saints sign hardy, what little of the NFL I watch, would turn to zero.
