Looking at the Beckwith kid, the CCU website says he has appeared in 22 games and started 6. Kind of odd to me for such strong numbers.

Sheer necessity. Starters were inconsistent early in the year, but he's been the definition of consistency. So, he has been saved a lot of starts to come in as a long reliever.
He started in the Regionals last year for us, as well.
