Not really, other than K2 cups come with a lid you can close. K2 does the same job with a cooler that weighs less and cost less.

As far as the ice debate, when you are 20 miles or more from a place to get ice you don't want to have to run and get ice every couple days. So yeah the expense of driving to the store 40+ miles round trip and the price of ice adds up.
