2 fan bases (LSU & A&M) versus 1 (UT). And UT still wins, even with their suckage.

But A&M felt like a footnote around here before coming to the SEC. Now the media time between them is pretty even. Johnny helped alot with that though, and most of it lately has been negative. Still, they are much more of a story in Houston since joining the SEC than they were while in the Big12.

Baylor, TCU and Texas Tech are also Big12 teams from Texas and all have fans in Houston.

However, who cares?

When A&M was winning big in the 90's they got much more coverage than ut...more winning = more coverage...to say they were a footnote though before sec is false.

Apparently you live in Houston so I'm not sure why I'm explaining this, but Houston is a big arse city with people from all over the region, let alone country.

There is far more than just UT fans in Houston, try every university within 500 miles, including A&M, UT, LSU, Texas Tech, Baylor, SHSU, and McNeese.

That said, I'm sure the SEC addition has helped A&M a great deal.
