you'd think of all things, an update to the interface would take like a week will few guys coding. I can't stand the fact that in 2017 we have video games who's menus operating like they're on 56k dialup

Played several games last night. A few "play now" against the CPU and a 2-0 in FUT seasons.
First thoughts:
It's a lot different, but I like the player movement. You can actually change direction with agile dribblers. Defending isn't OP, no more just beasting someone off the ball because you got close to them and pressed the tackle button. The wingers make good runs, you can put a through ball between the Center back and Fullback and your winger will run into it. I haven't gotten hawked down from behind by a slower player yet, though I'm sure it'll happen. I only took one free kick from a dangerous spot yesterday, but it seemed much much easier to put it on target. There's no more 40% chance of a goal from corner kicks, thank God they fixed that. '16 was so cheesy in that regard. I had a custom tactic/movements that would get me a goal more than half the time in '16 from a corner. The over the top through ball seems to have found a nice balance between OP '15 and doesn't work at all '16. Player positioning seems to be a lot better, the team holds their shape offensively with discipline.
Things that will take a lot of getting used to:
The camera angle really makes shooting hard for me right now. I scored all of my goals last night from 12 yards and in. I also misjudged several passes on defense due to camera angle. Crosses seem to be a lot harder to convert into goals, but not a big gripe there because that's more realistic.
Initial thoughts are that this is a better game than FIFA '16 from a soccer simulation standpoint, it's just going to take some getting used to

I feel the same way that its gonna take some getting used to... all the stuff that i used in 16 that was op'd has changed. My first seasons match on FuT i scored a hat trick with my center back who has 30 shot lol I was worried for a second

which setting are you using? I went straight to my custom Tele Broadcast settings and even that is slightly different this year and is taking some time to get used to

Whatever default is. I'm gonna check out the other options tonight

This is a great improvement. I always killed in possession on 16, even against superior clubs. Now they actually control the play more. Just can't run up and say "I'll take that" and dispossess them anymore

Default cam is turds. It shows off more if the stadium, prob only reason its in there. Tele/Tele broadcast is much better.

USA has an 3rd kit.... loved the classic 2002 look. Maybe next year we can rock this

I usually play on dynamic, but it doesn't swing quickly enough. Going to switch to Tele.

I really can't tell much difference between Tele and Default, but either one is fine.
Liking the penalties, corners, crosses, etc. Takes getting used to, but is much better.

I generally do custom and zoom way out so I can see more of the field.

Just came here to say that 'The Journey' is super gay and I won't play it again. SMH EA.
By that I mean I finished it.

I haven't played it but I've read the spoilers. Fifa marketing department is a complete sham. They intentionally misled people with this mode

I knew that was going to be a sham. And they put all that effort into drumming it up.

Wait, so you can finish it? Like you don't get to just play out a full career?

Everybody does, no matter how you play.
Here is the spoiler article, it sums it up nicely LINK

Not knowing anything about The Journey going in I figured it had to be one season. Honestly I'd rather play a career with someone I picked or made as opposed to Hunter which everyone has.
