The Cubs (39-15) go for the sweep of the Diamondbacks (24-34) this afternoon from Wrigley. Jake Arrieta (9-0, 1.56) gets the ball opposite Patrick Corbin (2-5, 4.96) for Arizona. Go Cubs Go.

When/if the Cubs make a trade for another starting pitcher or reliever they don't include Baez. I really like how he's developed both offensively and defensively. You can just see his confidence grow.

I like everything about his approach. He seems to have the right attitude and approach to work. I love when he lays down those bunts. He's already a star in the field though he's still developing there.
My only concern is that long swing. Lots of holes there, but I think he has the right attitude and work ethic where he will adjust eventually.

When are the Cubs going to expand the scoreboard so the other 3 games can be listed?

I agree his swing needs to improve. Without looking up the numbers I would venture to say his strikeouts are down from last year. Ultimately, I would like to see Beaz at third and Bryant moved to left field. Not to say Bryant's defensive skills are bad; Beaz seems to have a slight edge as far as defensive skills are concerned.

Arrieta 11 K's thru 4IP. 80 pitches though

Although he has 11k's he seems to be leaving a lot of pitches up in the zone.

I wish the offense would nut up and give him some runs

If Baez can keep working on his approach at the plate he will be lethal over time.

C'mon walk off time

I would have gambled with pinch hitting Heyward over Montero there.

I'll take two outta 3

Two out of three hurts the winning percentage.

Now they're only on pace for what....112 wins?

And 8 put of 10. Hate to lose when we seemingly had such a pitching matchup advantage, but I guess Jake was due for a loss.
