I have a black fungus on my St. Aug in a few spots around my yard it looks to be killing the grass the grass is dead and there is white fungus mold looking crap growning on it.. After a little research I found some recommendations of putting cornmeal on it. Anyone ever heard of this?

I have not heard of that...I would just buy some commercial fungicide and be done with it. they make some in a bottle with a built in sprayer that you hook to a water hose that has worked well for me in the past.

I have a creek on one side of my yard, a river in the front side and a flow well (straight groundwater) so the fewer the chemicals I can use the better.

Do you have hogs near you?
Acquaintance here decided to do the same thing and woke up the next morning to the yard that was essentially disked.

Yeah, i would not try that unless you are fond of ants in your yard.

Yeah I tried to warn him we ended up killing 34 on his property in the next two weeks

If he'd season that cornmeal, he'd be able to catch and cook his own buffet.

You probably have slime mold. Dry weather will take care of it and it should not be killing your grass.

So you're saying it worked?

It works just fine. Get germinated or else you may have corn stalks growing in your yard. Also, organic is better.
