Anything activities or sites to see besides a Barons game?
Birmingham is more like a kid-friendly place as far as the big name activities. The Zoo, McWane Science Center, The Vulcan, etc. There are a bunch of local bars with live music. But unless there is a festival going on, not a whole lot else as far as activities. What days are you going to be here?

The Birmingham Museum of Art is one of my favorite Art museums. Probably my favorite in the Southeast

If theres anything going on at the Alabama Theatre, that would be a cool place to catch a show

Agree with this guy. There isn't much to do in Birmingham, but the obvious things are not too bad. It's a decent city but the whole culture is not a lively one.
As far as food, it is top heavy. The good restaurants are indeed good, but there aren't tons and as per the para above, there isn't much to do so they could get crowded. Most recs I have seen in this thread are good places. The Avondale area is not bad, I haven't spent time there in a few years but this seemed to be the more up and coming area of the city for nightlife.
It's a really pretty town, there just isn't too much to do. But for a few days, you could keep yourself occupied. I know this post isn't the most helpful but maybe will help with what to expect
