What is Roma's FFP status?
Not in real danger of sanctions but always pushing the limit.
In building the current squad over the past few years-- which had massive debt when the new ownership group took over -- Roma has often sold players outright while buying players on deals deferred over years.
The likely Rudiger sale is a pretty good example:
Buy Rudiger for €9 and sell for €25 in this FFP window then buy a seemingly equal player like Umtiti for likely the same actual amount but after this FFP window and on deferred payments.
It means there will always be some turnover to keep books in line with FFP.
Fortunately, the majority of that turnover is now happening with all the talented youngsters out on loan.
Roma spends more for transfer fees on players like Sanabria, Ponce, Paredes, Gerson than they do on players actually on the roster.
.
The plan seems to be to postpone as many payments as possible until the new stadium opens.
