Yes they do, NetFlix is focusing on Original Programming, as is HBO. The unoriginal/nonexclusive content is a secondary concern to both.

It's hard to be disruptive with a product no one wants is what I'm saying. You say that they decided not to be disruptive by not carrying a large catalogue of movies, but then turn around and say that no one keeps Netflix for their movie selection. Let's say they did focus their resources to maintain a large catalogue of movies instead of original programing. By your own logic no one would keep their netflix subscription. The scenario you seem to be describing is them to be disruptive AND not make money.
