The rollers and belt would be making a lot of noise if that was the issue. That doesn't make the dryer overheat like he's describing.

There's also a filter in the back of the drum on some units that gets clogged, Broke did you see anything like that? (not the regular lint filter but one mounted on the back of the drum itself.
