Seems like he's a bit bulkier and not as fluid.

He actually looks leaner to me than he did in Miami when he played the 4. He's more explosive now than he's been in the last couple of years. David Thorpe was saying on a Lowe Post podcast the other day that his jumper is off because he's off-balance. His hips aren't in-line and his feet are landing in from of him because he's fading away on his shots. That has nothing to do with his physique and more to do with his lack of preparation because he's not a natural shooter like Durant. It's something he has to constantly work at and be in rythym to do consistently.

He can be a good shooter at times but to this point there's just not been a reason for him to do so. He probably just understands how good his current teammates are at perimeter shooting, while also trying to maximize his efficiency since he's so good at the rim. The way he's playing now is facilitated and induced by the scheme and players around him. There hasn't been a guy like Kawhi Leonard or Paul George with the ability to stay in front of him and prevent him from doing this and force him to settle for jumpers.

Pretty much, which in all honesty he has probably recognized and realized his own limitations. It's a part of greatness. He's now doing what he should have always been doing with Love and Kyrie letting them do some more of the heavy lifting scoring (or at least trying to score).
