I guess I misunderstood your point. I thought your point (in a vacuum) is we shouldn't have high expectations for our rookie.

But, your argument is we can't expect to be a winning team AND have a valuable rookie. I agree with that point.

I just don't see us making the moves that give us the luxury of a role playing rookie with our pick. I hope I'm wrong.

Thing that has my mind racing, is: If you draft Dunn and AD agrees to play more Center, would re-signing Ryno (even at 18 mil) be smart?

I mean, with Dunn, Jrue, and QPon, you would have 3 good perimeter defenders who can keep the bigs from getting attacked so easily. And offensively, two playmakers with AD and Ryno could be nasty

It's worth considering at least

I don't think last season changed my mind at all about this teams title chances, they'll have to get extremely lucky and have a lot of things fall their way to have a shot. Similar to the Saints.
