I'm missing something here...
Tried to stop him? The only thing I saw was that the Nights King touched him. Bran was the only way that the Nights King could get to Bloodraven.
When Bran was touched it wasn't a vision, there haven't been visions since before he started tapping into the roots of the tree. He was witnessing an event in the past. That event resembled an Army set to march.
I dunno maybe I'm reading too much into it. I just was grasping to explain all of the events of that scene + the Nights King showing up so quickly at the tree.
ETA: Are you referring to the wights that attacked when Bran arrived at the tree? If the wights are a hive mind, then the King should have already known he was there and bloodravens comment about "he knows you're here" was pointless.
