Thanks. I've replayed that situation several times in my mind.

My first reaction was to just leave him alone, not bother him, let him sleep it off, and he'd leave when he sobered up. If I had done that, the poor guy would almost certainly have died before morning.

I sure didn't want to walk up to his driver side window and knock on it not knowing what he might do. (I confess I had my friends Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson with me when I knocked on his window.)

Either he or I had a guardian angel of sorts looking out for us that night.
