Interesting that King snake is so docile. I've read that they tame very easily, but bite like hell when they're first captured

I don't know. I've never found them to be very bitey. I had one when I was a kid that was a mean bastard, but that's the only one. Maybe it's a difference in the subspecies? If I'm not mistaken, you guys have the speckled kings in southern LA (assuming that's where you are), as opposed to the blacks we have up here.
