You are correct. We need to be responsible for our decisions and not blame a bad choice on someone else or some event. All bad choices don't have bad outcomes, but the percentage of bad outcomes is much greater with bad choices.
Every step in life is about risk and choices. Poor choices, as a general rule, make life harder. And sometimes it only takes one bad choice to really mess up your life.
