To answer the question. I wouldn't do it! Keep the hard top and buy a soft top.

I went of for the hard top because my 4 door is a third vehicle for the wife and I. I got a power hoist-a- top for the garage and it works well. We watch the weather closely when the top is off and I bought an emergency top for about $100 in case I get stuck.
