Sources say that we could know the fate of Ben Simmons' sneaker deal by as early as the end of next week.

The LSU alumni stands to make over $100 million from his endorsement, and sources tell The Vertical that Nike and adidas will make formal pitches to lock down the projected top pick this week. Klutch Sports Group, the agency founded by LeBron James' agent and long-time friend Rich Paul which also represents Simmons, will hold a meeting with adidas tomorrow in Los Angeles. After that, Simmons and Klutch Sports are expected to speak with Nike this weekend.

Australian teenager Ben Simmons is being courted by shoe giants Adidas and Nike, but he won't be getting anywhere near the much-publicised $US100 million contract.

The 19-year-old is expected to be offered five-year shoe deals worth around $US2.2 million ($A2.95 million) to $US2.5 million ($A3.35 million), Yahoo! Sports reported.

Ben just may = Jamarcus Russell

Basketball much more forgiving but he'll definitely take an initial beating. NBA will allow him to survive.

What's the chances Ben takes a shot on one of these companies?

I've tired of people being "fed up" with Ben because LSU didn't do well. Our PG immediately came out with a rap song dissing half the team. Ben flew back in for the basketball banquet...everyone was there except one person. You can guess who.

That's why the NBA sucks balls. They are just desperate for the next one who might be a star, and the shoe companies are worse.

Ben is NONE of these. As a former "student" I wonder what his credits earned looked like. I never did so hot when I skipped class. That shoe deal says a lot about the values in America these days.
Alumna, alumnae, alumni, alumnus
Alumni is a plural noun referring either to a group male graduates or to a group of both male and female GRADUATES. The singular alumnus refers to one male graduate, alumna refers to one female graduate, and the plural alumnae refers to a group of female graduates. These Latin loanwords preserve their original plural forms, and incorrect use of the words abounds because many speakers of English are understandably unfamiliar with the genders and plurals of Latin nouns.
