I would be interested to hear how it is handled in other states to see if the exemption was somewhat standard. I can't say that I've paid a lot of attention to it, but it seems like when I've bought tickets from other schools or for professional games the additional costs were usually processing fees or shipping and taxes weren't noted. But maybe I overlooked them or the listed ticket price was already grossed up.
In states that don't exempt ticket sales from sales tax, the face value will show the amount of tax included. For example, a $60 tax will show $57.14 for the ticket, and $2.86 sales tax.

Just pulled a few away game tickets from 2012 & 2013:
Auburn - $85 (ADM 77.98 Tax 7.02)
Georgia - $75 Tax Incl.
Florida $70 & Arkansas $55 have no mention of tax on their ticket.
Looking at images online, Missouri doesn't mention tax on their stub. South Carolina "Price includes taxes and bond fees."
