Trying to ID the make of this simple military style watch, and then where I can find one.

I have heard negative feedback on the Marathon US Government-issued watches, but I don't know if these are along the same lines.

Any thoughts?

This is where that watch is from. Looks like it has a Japanese auto movement. Super cheap, so it's probably crap, not sure what price point you are looking for, though.

Wore one of those U.S. Guide watches for years and never had an issue with it. That was 20 years ago though

I broke my marathon automatic in 5 days. It stopped and wouldn't wind. Waited 3 weeks for it to come in, sent it back the 5th day I had it. Waited 3 more weeks to get it back.

I've got a seiko sport 5 automatic coming in the mail today.. Bought it off ebay from Singapore. Same style you are looking for.

I would need to see the caseback. This isn't an actual military issued watch and it's not a Marathon. It's probably one of dozens of watches with that military look that says US on the dial.

Hadn't seen a black one yet. Still prefer Sinn dial look. What would that set you back?

$150ish

It's a nice watch too. Thinner. Has tritium vials in some of them also which is cool. It's radioactive

What's the verdict on these Marathons?

Also, is their water resistance worth a shite?

For a Marathon? Thought their intro price point was 895 or 995 with some going up to $3-4K?

Is it WR? I dont see anything on the dial.

I can always scratch together $150 to scratch my watch itch.

They are much thinner than the Marathon that we know. But it's a nicely built watch with a quartz movement. Water Resistant but I would only go in the rain with it. No diving for sure if I had one.
