Hey, he's passionate and stands up for something greater than himself. Good for him. This is his area of expertise. So I won't question it.
At first I felt like this was some really random incident.. but seems like it happens often.
I couldn't understand what motive or why a coach would do this.. but there's always some sort of strange reasoning (in another person's head) Perhaps not to let the kids get a big head.. perhaps just more control type of situation..
I don't think it's right to hold out on the players.. this is about their future and if they want to start weighing their options.. they shouldn't have a coach hold out on them the info because he believe it's right.

Jimmy definitely comes across as being all about the kids. I asked him about if his twitter feed is a nightmare because of all the players he follows during the recruitment process, and he said he's always trying to give them advice on what they put out there on social media and what they don't.

My high school coach withheld letters from former A&M DE Jay Arnold his freshman year until spring practices ended. But that was likely because he knew Jay could be special and didn't want him to get a big head. Now this is different then what JimmyD is talking about, but not giving a kid the letters at all is just wrong.
