can you get a train from Zagreb to Vienna?

We can, but it is not ideal for our time constraints. There aren't too many trains that leave from split to Zagreb or Zagreb to Vienna. We wouldn't make it to Zagreb in time to catch the train to Vienna until the next morning.

I know the struggle, we did a 6am ferry from Hvar to split, bus from split to Zagreb, showed up just in time(literally running from bus to train station) to catch train to Budapest and then got to Budpaest at 10pm that night and found an airbnb. the longest worst travel day ever. We did it all without a plan too got really lucky
